aiTech‌ ‌Trend‌ ‌Interview‌ ‌with‌ Talya Stone, Chief Marketing Officer at Permutable AI

What motivated you to be a part of Permutable.ai and how has the company evolved since its inception?

I was motivated to join the company because I believe that  AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach sustainability and create positive impact for our planet. I saw the incredible work that Permutable was doing in the field of sustainability analytics in terms of driving transparency and accountability of corporate sustainability commitments, and I knew I wanted to part of that journey to speed up much needed action in this area. Since its inception, and in a very short time, Permutable AI has evolved to become a leader in the sustainable AI space, providing cutting-edge solutions to address critical ESG challenges and I am proud to be part of a team that is working on such innovative solutions in such an urgent area.

How do you see AI evolving in the next 5-10 years, and what role do you see Permutable.ai playing in that evolution?

I think things are happening way faster than most people realise. Although AI can be a force for good, I think it can also be scary and the discussion around AI and ethics is a big one that we need to take more seriously on a widespread basis. In the next 5-10 years, I see AI rapidly evolving to become even more integrated into our daily lives, transforming industries across the board. Although this is already happening, I think this is going to increase rapidly to a point of singularity. Permutable AI is well-positioned to play a crucial role in this evolution, leveraging our expertise in sustainable AI to help companies make more informed decisions about their environmental, social, and governance impact. We also feel a strong sense of stewardship in the team. We talk and worry about the evolution of AI daily as although there will be many positive impacts such as solving problems that humans have not been able to for the greater good, there will also be a dark side to be dealt with in terms of its impact on humanity.

What is your vision for Permutable.ai and how do you see the company shaping the future of AI?

My vision for Permutable AI is to continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with sustainable AI, driving real change and impact for our planet. We are committed to addressing the ethical implications of AI development and deployment, and are taking steps to ensure responsible and ethical use of our technology. Ultimately we want to be world’s conscience and the go-to AI company for solving complex problems around sustainability issues – and perhaps others in future!

We have adapted quickly to the changing business environment brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, leveraging our technology to help our clients navigate these uncertain times.

What advice do you have for other leaders who are considering integrating AI into their business operations?

My advice for other leaders considering integrating AI into their business operations is to start with a clear vision and a deep understanding of how AI can help drive their specific business objectives. It’s important to prioritize transparency and accountability, and to consider the ethical implications of AI from the outset.

What is one lesson you’ve learned as a C-level executive in the AI industry that you would pass on to other aspiring leaders?

One lesson I’ve learned as a C-level executive in the AI industry is the importance of collaboration and teamwork. The best ideas often come from diverse perspectives and a willingness to challenge assumptions and think creatively. As leaders, we need to foster an environment that encourages open communication and meaningful collaboration across teams and disciplines. I find there is a lot of talk of collaboration but a lot of the time that is just that – talk. So my advice would be to stay open and curious, and jump on that call or have that meeting as you never know who or what it will lead you to! And then most importantly – action it.
