### Meta Expands Access to AI Assistant on Ray-Ban Smart Glasses in Europe

Meta Platforms announced on Wednesday that it is broadening access to its artificial intelligence assistant, Meta AI, on Ray-Ban smart glasses to seven additional European countries. This expansion includes Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, allowing users to interact with Meta AI using voice prompts to receive answers to general questions.

#### Enhanced Features and Capabilities

The updated Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses now offer users a live translation feature and a new real-time response capability. With the live translation feature, users can easily translate languages in real-time using Meta AI. Moreover, the real-time response capability allows users to ask Meta AI about objects they are looking at, enhancing the overall user experience.

#### AI Video Capability and Language Translation Functionality

In December 2024, Meta introduced AI video capability and real-time language translation functionality to the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. These features were initially announced during the annual Connect conference in September of the same year, showcasing Meta’s commitment to integrating advanced AI technologies into wearable devices.

#### Overcoming Regulatory Challenges

The launch of Meta AI in Europe faced delays due to regulatory concerns surrounding data protection and privacy. However, with the expansion to additional European countries, Meta aims to attract new users and strengthen its AI infrastructure, offering innovative solutions to users across the continent.
